Bambini

Zanaka - Jain (2015)

Suggested by my friend Dino, here we are talking about this new French talent, Jain. Born in Toulouse in 1992, she has lived in various parts of the world, following her father, an employee of an oil company (and then they say that oil is evil). The mother is from malagasy origins (the title of the album means "children" in the Malagasy language). Especially in Congo, she began to develop a preference for melodies echoing Africa and "danceable"; always in Congo she began recording demos, and she has known Mr. Flash, a French DJ and producer, who taught her to compose music with the PC. After releasing some demos on MySpace, she was spotted by Dready, his current manager, and Yodelice, who met her, then worked with her, offered to her to open for some of his concerts, and has served her as producer.
The album was released in November 2015, and has had good success in France; Jain is also known in Belgium and in Poland, where the single "Come" (herein, but which was originally in the EP "Hope") was used for an advertisement for a television channel. Jain is very attentive to the visual part of her work, including live shows. Always wears this dress black and white because, she says, "has nothing to do with my music, but it is there to stand in contrast, because my music is warm."
"Zanaka" is danceable and charming, warm, precisely, and smells of Africa and Arab countries. Many pieces are super catchy, and they are very difficult to remove from the head. Try to listen.
